nukeSEO.com released nukeWYSIWYG™ 2.6.4 featuring FCKeditor. This update includes several important new and improved features:

File manager requires Nuke admin authentication (identified by S Electric)
FCKeditor 2.6.4 with new web-based spell checker
Browser-specific and compliance fixes

Please note that the file manager has always validated uploads to prevent files that can be used to cause harm to a site (e.g. executable files like .js and .php, as well as scripts renamed to be images).

nukeNAV(tm) preview 2: modal dialogs for login and search functions

This second preview of nukeNAV™ shows how the new dynamic navigation system supports modal dialogs (aka lightbox, greybox, etc.) for the search and login functions, courtesy of jQuery and the Colorbox plugin. These were easily developed from existing blocks, and added to a nukeNAV module, which will also eventually be the home for more complex navigation configuration.

Next up: developing the modal dialog for title and META tag overrides at the page / content level.

For now, enjoy the preview (and watch carefully for a hidden treat that might eventually work its way into a CMS near you...)

No! We're not trying to develop another RavenNuke™ CMS addon - at least not yet. But it's difficult to ignore the impact of social media, especially Facebook and Twitter - not to mention the hundreds of other recent startups trying to grab a piece of this worldwide market. Hopefully, that title got your attention.

Community-based content management systems like RavenNuke™ CMS are the original Internet social media sites. Designed in part to build online communities, content management systems frequently combine membership management functions and a host of user-submitted content, including news, journals (now referred to as blogs), forums (which have evolved into statuses, walls, groups and "pages"), galleries (a la flickr, facebook photos, etc.) and weblinks (now served by Del.icio.us, Digg, Stumbleupon, and others). Just as the mechanisms for social interaction have evolved, community-based content management systems can adapt to take advantage of these new methods of interaction.

This is a first in a series of articles that are intended to help webmasters using RavenNuke™ and other community-based content management systems learn more about social media and how it can be used to interact with and promote your sites.

Trickedoutnews is happy to announce the release of Version 2 of the Tricked Out News module. I have released 2 separate mods, one with a character counter designed to help control the size of the news on the index with the 2 columns and one without the character counter mod. The default is set at 460 characters. This release is what I had envisioned for this mod when I started. Many, many changes have been made. You will need to delete your browsers cache due to the javascript modifications before some admin features will load.

I have modified and released the nukeCSS themes to work with RavenNuke along with the Theme Link Control Panel. I have also redone those themes removing the links and control panel, adding a logo image and combining all the html files into 1 theme.php file. Those redone themes are now called RN CSS Themes. All have been tested and are XHTML 1.0 transitional and CSS 2.1 compliant.

Both the themes and the Tricked Out News mod can be viewed on my test site. They can be download at Trickedoutnews.com.

Forum phbb3 (v3.0.4) in PHPNuke in 10 minutes

To meet the requests of many users we have created this pack with which anyone will be able to install the latest version of phpbb3 forum v.3.0.4 on its new site PHP-Nuke.

We reaffirm the fact that this method, thanks to the bridge built by Bruno Teboul (nonal) http://www.osc2nuke.com, allows for automatic recognition of new members on PHP-Nuke on the Forum. Therefore, this application is used mainly on sites PHP-Nuke newly created! This is not the phpbb2 forum that you have on your PHP-Nuke site, and it's not able to convert data from phpbb2!

Among the many interesting features: this is not a PHPNuke module but a standalone version that is not shared with PHPNuke, which means that future updates will be much easier to perform.
